SERI supports Khayelitsha learners with talent, ambition and an interest in Maths, Science and IT.
SERI [The Science Education Resources Initiative] is a registered, non-profit organization that operates in Khayelitsha, a residential township in the Cape Town Metropole. SERI was formed in August, 2004, in response to the critical state of Mathematics and Science education in South Africa.

Because COSAT is a ‘no-fee’ school, SERI requires funding for its GET bursary scheme. A single GET bursary can be regarded as an annual school fee, as would be required at almost all high-performing schools. Junior bursaries [for Grade 8s and 9s] are valued at R8000 per annum or R2000 per term and senior bursaries [for Grade 10s, 11s and 12s] are valued at R10000 per annum
